These bills would make VA hospitals more effective and efficient and increase access to job counseling services for widows and widowers of deceased servicemembers.\n\nCassidy is also a co-sponsor of the Major Richard Star Act, which would allow veterans who were forced to medically retire due to combat or combat-related injuries to receive both their VA disability compensation and full military retirement pay.\n\nAt the state convention, Cassidy also met with attendees and discussed how his Baton Rouge office can help them with any individual problem they have with the VA.
