Efforts to pack the court are nakedly political in nature and serve only to secure a permanent liberal majority. A constitutional amendment makes it clear that the court remains as it is,said Dr. Cassidy.\r\nDemocrats, spurred by their left-wing base, have either embraced court packing or refused to state a position. The idea has gained more traction among left-leaning voters who want to negate the seats filled by President Trump, who has appointed three justices to the court.\r\nCassidy supported the confirmations of Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavannah.
