{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=7CCF3538-583C-448F-A5E2-A343963830B8", "COCHRAN URGES CONTINUED COOPERATION AS COMMITTEE AGAIN COMPLETES ANNUAL APPROPRIATIONS BILLS", "2016-06-29", "2016", "2016-06", "Republican", "House", "MS", "Thad Cochran", "C000567", "www.cochran.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) today addressed the outlook for the FY2017 appropriations process following the committee\u2019s successful approval of all 12 annual appropriations bills for the second straight year.\r\n\r\nThe twelfth and last FY2017 bill, the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Bill, was approved by the committee on Wednesday by a 30 to 0 vote. \u00a0This is the earliest the committee has completed markups for the regular appropriations bills since 1988.\r\n\r\n\u201cI am pleased that the Appropriations Committee has completed its work on the 2017 bills, but our work is not done. \u00a0All Senators should have an opportunity to consider these bills. \u00a0That will require continued bipartisan cooperation as we move forward,\u201d Cochran said.\r\n\r\n\u201cI thank the members of this committee and Majority Leader McConnell, who has made it a priority to designate floor time for all Senators to debate and amend these bills,\u201d he said. \u00a0\u201cI also appreciate the cooperation of Vice Chairwoman Mikulski for the progress we\u2019ve made this year.\u201d\r\n\r\nThe committee has worked under an accelerated schedule, setting records for the earliest bill markups in years. \u00a0Senate passage in May of the FY2017 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill was the earliest that a stand-alone appropriations bill has been approved by the Senate in more than 40 years. \u00a0The Military Construction and Veterans Affairs and the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development appropriations bills have also been approved by the full Senate.\r\n\r\nThe Senate FY2017 appropriations bills were overwhelmingly bipartisan and were approved by a cumulative 345 to 15 vote in committee.\r\n\r\nLast year, the committee approved all 12 of the regular appropriations measures for the first time since 2009. \u00a0The measures were reported to the Senate by a combined vote of 277 to 83.\r\n\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=7CCF3538-583C-448F-A5E2-A343963830B8"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9370339103043079, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
