{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=FA89E479-7ABF-439B-982A-0F5FBC44FB52", "COCHRAN, WICKER: $1 MILLON FAA AWARD FOR GOLDEN TRIANGLE REGIONAL AIRPORT", "2016-08-30", "2016", "2016-08", "Republican", "House", "MS", "Thad Cochran", "C000567", "www.cochran.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 U.S. Senators Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) today announced that the Golden Triangle Regional Airport, near the intersection of Clay, Lowndes and Oktibbeha Counties, Miss., has received a federal grant for more than $1 million to increase passenger safety.The grant, totaling $1,063,485, was provided through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program.\u00a0 It will allow the Golden Triangle Regional Airport Authority to rehabilitate the airport\u2019s apron, which is the area of an airport where aircraft are parked, loaded, and boarded.\u201cThe Golden Triangle Regional Airport is an important asset for an area that is growing as a hub for technology, research and manufacturing.\u00a0 I am pleased that local authorities will have these resources to improve the efficiency of this airport,\u201d Cochran said.\u201cThis federal investment represents a continued commitment to improving the existing airport infrastructure at Golden Triangle,\u201d Wicker said.\u00a0 \u201cThese enhancements, along with the construction of a third new industrial park, highlight the tremendous economic progress being made in the area.\u201dWicker serves a senior member of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, which last spring drafted a new FAA reform bill that expands the Airport Improvement Program.\u00a0 The legislation was enacted into law in July.Cochran chairs the Senate Appropriations Committee, which in May approved the FY2017 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Bill.\u00a0 This measure provides $3.35 billion from the Airport and Airway Trust Fund to continue support for the Airport Improvement Program.\u00a0 Many Mississippi airports benefit from this program, which is designed to help facilities meet FAA operations and safety standards.\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=FA89E479-7ABF-439B-982A-0F5FBC44FB52"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.5718280337750912, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
