{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=ebc19747-14cc-4db9-9721-7901750743bd", "WEST POINT NAVISTAR PLANT GETS $38.4 MILLION ARMY CONTRACT TO UPGRADE MRAP VEHICLES", "2014-09-04", "2014", "2014-09", "Republican", "House", "MS", "Thad Cochran", "C000567", "www.cochran.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "WASHINGTON, D.C. \u2013 The Navistar Defense plant at West Point will undertake upgrading MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicles as part of a $38.4 million contract awarded by the U.S. Army, according to U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.).\r\nThis phase of the \u201cvehicle reset\u201d contract would entail the replacement of mandatory parts and repairs to MRAP Maxx Pro Dash vehicles, bringing them to a Condition Code-A, or \u201clike new,\u201d standard.\u00a0 The contract is estimated to be completed in June 2016.\r\n\u201cThe production of the MRAPs in Mississippi has helped contribute to the effectiveness of our fighting forces, and this contract would allow our highly capable workforce to continue those efforts,\u201d said Cochran, vice chairman of the Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee.\r\nAccording to the Army, the contract work would entail meeting new configuration of the M1235 Maxx Pro Dash, M1235 A1 Maxx Pro Dash with independent suspension systems, while the M1235 A2 Maxx Pro dash ambulance would also be reconfigured.\r\nThe contract derives from FY2014 appropriations approved by Congress for the Department of Defense, including $25.8 million in Army operations and maintenance funding and $12.5 million in procurement funds.\r\nThe Senate Appropriations Committee in July approved the FY2015 Defense Appropriations Bill (http://1.usa.gov/1qMrIMl), which includes $165.8 billion in overall base funding for Defense Department operation and maintenance accounts and $91.4 billion for procurement.\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.cochran.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=ebc19747-14cc-4db9-9721-7901750743bd"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.7002420499920845, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
