U.S. Senator Susan Collins, the Chairman of the Housing Appropriations Subcommittee, announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded a total of $2,228,481 to public housing agencies across the state to support affordable housing and bolster COVID-19 prevention and response efforts throughout the State of Maine. This second installment of supplemental funding was awarded througha provision of the CARES Act that Senator Collins authoredthat directed $48.5 billion to support transportation and housing programs throughout the country.\n\nTo fight the COVID-19 pandemic, additional resources are vital to help bolster Maine's housing programs that serve the most vulnerable members of our society,said Senator Collins.
