Cornyn. With the President's signature, twenty different Texas projects will move forward, further protecting Texans from severe flooding and catastrophic storms. Sen. Cornyn's priorities that were included in theWater Resources Development Act of 2020 and are now law are as follows:\n Authorizes the Houston Ship Channel Expansion Improvement Project. \nAuthorizes the Jefferson County ecosystem restoration project.\nAuthorizes the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Brazos River Floodgates, and Colorado River Locks navigation project.\nAuthorizes the Matagorda Ship Channel Improvement Project in Port Lavaca.\nAuthorizes the Chacon Creek flood risk management project.\nAuthorizes a new feasibility study for the Port Arthur and Orange County flood risk management project, including construction of improvements to interior drainage.\nAuthorizes a feasibility study for the Chocolate Bayou flood risk management project.\nAuthorizes project modifications for the Houston-Galveston Navigation Channels project.\nAuthorizes a feasibility study for thePort of Victoriaflood risk management project.\nExpedites the completion of the Buffalo Bayou feasibility study for flood risk management.\nRequires the Secretary of the Army to provide a written status update on efforts to address flooding at Wilson Creek and Sloan Creek in Fairview, Texas.\nAuthorizes project modifications for the Port of Corpus Christi Channel Improvement project.\nExpedites completion of the Lake Whitney Reallocation Study for the reallocation of water supply storage.\nExpedites completion of the Aquilla Lake Reallocation Study for the reallocation of water supply storage.\nExpedites the completion of the Lower Rio Grande River feasibility study for flood risk management, ecosystem restoration, and water supply.\nAuthorizes the USACE to participate in the repair and restoration of the eroding embankment at Lake Waco.\nDirects the USACE to assist El Paso County with a proposal to modify the authorized funding level for a water related infrastructure project.\nAssists Harris County Flood Control District in streamlining benefit-cost analyses for projects.\nDirects the USACE to identify specific engineering and maintenance deficiencies for levees across Texas and the nation, and to describe recommended remedies to correct each deficiency to ensure that critical levee performance is being achieved.\nReauthorizes of theRio Grande Environmental Management Programin Texas, New Mexico, and Colorado through 2029.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/content/news/cornyn%E2%80%99s-20-texas-priorities-water-infrastructure-bill-signed-law"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.6938809528946877, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
