The legislation supports our troops and their families through well-deserved pay increases.\n\n\u201cThe most critical component of the annual NDAA is ensuring our military is prepared to face off against and mitigate threats from our adversaries both at home and abroad,\u201d said Crapo. \u201cThe Senate\u2019s passage of this important legislation puts us one step closer to providing for the common defense.\u201d\n\n\u201cThis year\u2019s NDAA ensures our military remains mission-ready, can protect and defend our nation, and provides servicemembers with a well-deserved pay raise \u2013 if only Democrats would end this government shutdown,\u201d said Risch. \u201cThis legislation prioritizes recruitment of the best candidates to defend America, keep the border secure, and strengthen our national security.\u201d\n\nSenators Crapo and Risch secured several critical provisions for the state of Idaho in the NDAA that will:\n\nEnhance U.S. nuclear energy leadership globally and combat China and Russia\u2019s growing influence on international nuclear energy development;\n\nCrack down on the import of deadly fentanyl and its precursors flowing from China to Mexico and across our borders;\n\nSupport the Idaho National Laboratory for tristructural isotropic (TRISO) fuel development;\n\nStrengthen the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States\u2019 (CFIUS) ability to review foreign land purchases near sensitive military, intelligence and national laboratory sites;\n\nReduce regulatory barriers to new and affordable housing; and\n\nImprove the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund to enhance transparency and performance.\n\nThe FY 2026 NDAA also:\n\nProvides a 3.8 percent pay raise for servicemembers;\n\nSupports the development of the Golden Dome missile defense system;\n\nAuthorizes investments to boost our naval fleet;\n\nRemoves diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) provisions;\n\nProhibits men from playing in women\u2019s sports at military service academies;\n\nRepeals or amends more than 100 burdensome and outdated provisions to streamline Pentagon innovation;\n\nRestore munitions and readiness for all military services; and\n\nExpand and improve military recruitment.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T19:32:54Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.crapo.senate.gov/media/newsreleases/10/10/2025/crapo-risch-support-americas-armed-forces"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.8728232719004154, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
