It now heads to President Trump\u2019s desk for signature.\n\n\u201cThe FY 2026 NDAA includes a number of wins for Idaho and America,\u201d said Crapo. \u201cIt provides our servicemembers a well-deserved pay raise and strengthens operational readiness to defend against foreign adversaries at home and abroad. The bill also secures funding for important projects at the Idaho National Laboratory which will have lasting, positive impacts on the local community, the economy and our national security.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe NDAA prioritizes the recruitment of top candidates to defend our nation, keep the border secure, and strengthen our national security,\u201d said Risch. \u201cI am proud to support this legislation, secure critical provisions for Idaho, and give our servicemembers a well-deserved pay raise.\u201d\n\nSenators Crapo and Risch secured several critical provisions for the state of Idaho in the NDAA that will:\n\nEnhance U.S. nuclear energy leadership globally and combat China and Russia\u2019s growing influence on international nuclear energy development;\n\nCrack down on the import of deadly fentanyl and its precursors flowing from China to Mexico and across our borders;\n\nSupport the Idaho National Laboratory for tristructural isotropic (TRISO) fuel development; and\n\nStrengthen the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States\u2019 (CFIUS) ability to review foreign land purchases near sensitive military, intelligence and national laboratory sites.\n\nThe FY 2026 NDAA also:\n\nProvides a 3.8 percent pay raise for servicemembers;\n\nSupports the development of the Golden Dome missile defense system;\n\nAuthorizes investments to boost our naval fleet;\n\nRemoves diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) provisions;\n\nProhibits men from playing in women\u2019s sports at military service academies;\n\nRepeals or amends burdensome and outdated provisions to streamline Pentagon innovation;\n\nRestores munitions and readiness for all military services; and\n\nExpands and improves military recruitment.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T20:09:11Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.crapo.senate.gov/media/newsreleases/12/17/2025/crapo-risch-support-americas-armed-forces"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8427458815276623, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
