The project would have constructed 231 wind turbines on approximately 57,447 acres near Jerome, Idaho, despite strong opposition from local community members, state officials and Idaho\u2019s congressional delegation.\n\n\u201cThanks to the U.S. Department of the Interior and Secretary Doug Burgum\u2019s leadership, the Lava Ridge project is dead once and for all,\u201d Senator Crapo said. \u201cThis harmful proposal by the previous Administration willfully neglected widespread opposition from the local community.
