As Chairman and Ranking Member of the Finance Committee, we are committed to working with our colleagues in the House and Senate to extend this vital incentive and ensure the U.S. remains a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing.\u201d\n\nBackground\n\nThe Advanced Manufacturing Investment Credit was created by the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022 and is based on Crapo and Wyden\u2019s Facilitating American-Built Semiconductors Act, introduced in 2021. Absent congressional action, the CHIPS ITC will not apply to property the construction of which begins after December 31, 2026. This would increase the cost of manufacturing semiconductors and semiconductor manufacturing equipment in the United States, making it harder for America to compete for private investment, manufacturing jobs and critical chip production.\n\n###", 1, "2026-08-07T06:11:19Z", "2026-08-07T06:12:42Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.crapo.senate.gov/media/newsreleases/crapo-wyden-reaffirm-commitment-to-extending-advanced-manufacturing-investment-credit"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.251164987683296, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
