{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.crapo.senate.gov/media/newsreleases/release_full.cfm?id=362977", "Crapo to Meet with Coeur d'Alene Diabetes Advocates", "2016-11-01", "2016", "2016-11", "Republican", "House", "ID", "Michael Crapo", "C000880", "www.crapo.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "November 01, 2016\n\t\t\t Crapo to Meet with Coeur d'Alene Diabetes Advocates \n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t \n\t\n\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n        \n\t\t\t\t Supports Continued Type-1 Diabetes Research at National Institutes of Health \n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tCoeur d'Alene - Idaho Senator Mike Crapo will join Coeur d'Alene advocates to discuss efforts to support continued research on Type 1 Diabetes at the National Institutes of Health.\u00a0 Local advocate Carson Magee has worked with Crapo, a member of the Senate Diabetes Caucus, to support efforts that maintain funding for the Special Diabetes Program (SDP) at NIH.\r\n\u00a0\r\nFor almost twenty years, SDP has worked to improve the lives of the more than 29 million Americans who have diabetes.\u00a0 The program - comprised of the Special Diabetes Program for Type 1 Diabetes Research and the\u00a0 Special Diabetes Program for Indians -\u00a0 has provided a solid return on a modest federal investment.\u00a0 As diabetes continues to be one of the most costly diseases to the nation - both in human and economic terms - the SDP funds research that is leading directly to new insights and therapies that are improving the lives of those with diabetes and accelerating progress towards curing and preventing the disease.
