The Montana Tech Summit will serve as a unique opportunity to bring together the nation\u2019s tech leaders in the hub of Montana\u2019s growing technology sector.\u00a0 The Summit will highlight Montana\u2019s growing role in the nation\u2019s high-tech economy and serve as an opportunity to discuss ways to create more good-paying Montana tech jobs.\u00a0\r\n\u201cNeville Ray knows the importance of working with local communities to expand services and will be incredibly beneficial in expanding wireless access in Montana,\u201d Daines stated. \u201cI\u2019m thrilled to bring T-Mobile\u2019s Neville Ray to Montana so he can share the job opportunities in our state and the hardworking folks who can benefit from the company.\u201d\r\n\u201cSenator Daines is a proven leader in the U.S. Senate on technology issues and I\u2019m delighted to join with him and others at the Montana High Tech Jobs Summit to discuss T-Mobile\u2019s expanded presence in Montana, the competition and innovation we\u2019re helping to accelerate across the state, and what 5G technology will bring to all, including those who live in rural America,\u201d Ray stated.\r\nNeville R. Ray serves as T-Mobile\u2019s Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer.\u00a0 Mr. Ray joined T-Mobile USA (then VoiceStream) in April 2000 and since December 2010 has served as its Chief Technology Officer, responsible for the national management and development of the T-Mobile USA wireless network and the company\u2019s IT services and operations.\u00a0 Prior to joining T-Mobile USA, Mr. Ray served as Network Vice President for Pacific Bell Mobile Services.\u00a0 He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Next Generation Mobile Networks Alliance, a mobile telecommunications association of mobile operators, vendors, manufacturers and research institutes.\u00a0 He also serves on the Board of Governors of 5G Americas, which provides the 3GPP family of technologies and served as the Chairperson from 2008 through 2013, and again in 2015.\u00a0 He has also served as a member of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration\u2019s Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee and the Federal Communications Commission\u2019s Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council.\u00a0 Mr.\u00a0Ray is an honors graduate of The City University of London and a member of the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Institution of Civil Engineers.\r\nBefore being elected to Congress, Daines spent 12 years working in the technology sector. He helped grow RightNow Technologies, a Bozeman-based technology company, into a global leader in cloud computing. The company grew rapidly to 17 offices around the world and software products in more than 30 languages.
