The vaccine, made by Pfizer, will be distributed immediately. Daines has been instrumental in the research, development, manufacturing and distribution of a COVID-19 vaccine, securing the initial $10 billion for Operation Warp Speed. Thanks to American innovation, the first COVID-19 vaccine is approved for emergency use and ready for distribution. This will help save lives, support our healthcare heroes, protect jobs and rebuild our economy, Daines said. I'm glad to have led the fight in the Senate to prioritize a COVID-19 vaccine, and will continue working to ensure all Montana communities get access. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel.\r\nDaines does not believe in mandating the vaccine, however, he encouragesindividualsto take it onceavailablein consultationwith their doctor.\r\nMontana is expected to receive 9,750 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this month.\r\nA second COVID-19 vaccine, made by Moderna, is awaiting approval by the FDA.
