{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.donnelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press/donnelly-applauds-clean-energy-tax-credit-for-carrier-and-delphi-indiana-facilities", "Donnelly Applauds Clean Energy Tax Credit for Carrier and Delphi Indiana Facilities", "2013-12-12", "2013", "2013-12", "Democrat", "House", "IN", "Joe Donnelly", "D000607", "www.donnelly.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Donnelly Applauds Clean Energy Tax Credit for Carrier and Delphi Indiana Facilities\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tThursday, December 12, 2013\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tWashington, D.C. \u2014 Senator Joe Donnelly today applauded two tax credits awarded by the U.S. Departments of Energy (DOE) and Treasury (DOT) to Carrier Corporation of Indianapolis and Delphi Automotive Systems, LLC of Kokomo to be used for investments in clean energy manufacturing at their facilities.\r\nCarrier\u2019s Indianapolis facility received a $5.1 million tax credit to expand production of its eco-friendly condensing gas furnace.\u00a0 Carrier\u2019s product line is among the most energy efficient gas furnaces available today, and this investment will help Carrier Indianapolis to meet expanding demand for energy efficient products.\r\nDelphi\u2019s Kokomo Power Electronics facility received a $10.6 million tax credit, which it plans to invest in new equipment and tooling over the next four years, eventually doubling their production capacity and is expected to create more than 150 new direct jobs.\u00a0 This is to help meet increased demands of its power electronics product line\u2014products such as inverters, converters, chargers, controllers, integrated energy storage, and electrical power management systems.\r\nDonnelly said, \u201cI am extremely proud of the hard working Hoosiers across the state who are contributing to the continued growth of America\u2019s manufacturing sector. \u00a0The tax credits will help these companies invest further in more good-paying manufacturing jobs right here in Indiana. \u00a0When we invest in American manufacturing, we support a strong middle class.\u201d \u00a0\r\nA Carrier spokesperson said, \u201cCarrier appreciates the support that this innovative program provided to help us accelerate commercial production at our Indianapolis manufacturing facility to meet increasing demand for our condensing gas furnace product line.\u00a0 The new lines includes the most energy efficient gas furnaces on the market, all with at least 92% annual fuel utilization efficiency, and exemplifies our commitment to economical and environmentally sustainable solutions for achieving improved energy efficiency and performance.\u201d\r\nDr. Andrew Brown Jr., Vice President and Chief Technologist at Delphi, said, \u201cDelphi is very appreciative of the DOE selection for a 48c tax credit.
