That is why I am sponsoring legislation that would allow individuals to keep their current health plans.\r\n\u201cThere are too many on the left who say that we shouldn\u2019t change anything and too many on the right who say we should just repeal the entire bill. I\u2019d rather work in a bipartisan way to improve the law so it works better for Hoosier families.\u201d\r\nThe Keep the Affordable Care Act Promise Act would do three things:\r\n \r\nRequire health insurance companies to clearly notify all current individual market policyholders as to why their plan is subject to being cancelled.\u00a0\r\n\r\nSpecifically, insurance companies would have to reference which parts of the policy do not meet the essential health benefit package and other requirements under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.\r\n\r\nProhibit health insurance companies from cancelling grandfathered plans in the individual market unless an individual cancels the policy, changes the policy, or defaults on payments.\r\nReaffirm that grandfathered plans would qualify as minimum essential coverage.\r\n \r\n###\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t Press Contact \n\t\t\t\t\tDonnelly_Press@Donnelly.Senate.Gov", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.donnelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press/donnelly-supports-bill-to-ensure-americans-can-keep-current-health-care-plans"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.2891979422420263, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
