{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.donnelly.senate.gov/newsroom/press/donnelly-supports-bill-to-extend-and-expand-tax-credit", "Donnelly Supports Bill to Extend and Expand Tax Credit", "2013-11-05", "2013", "2013-11", "Democrat", "House", "IN", "Joe Donnelly", "D000607", "www.donnelly.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Donnelly Supports Bill to Extend and Expand Tax Credit\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\tTuesday, November 5, 2013\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tWashington, D.C. \u2013 Senator Joe Donnelly (D-IN) today cosponsored S. 1446, the Health Care Coverage for Displaced Workers Act, legislation that would expand and permanently extend the Health Coverage Tax Credit that is available to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) pension and Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) recipients.\u00a0 The tax credit was created in 2002 as part of a trade law to help American workers impacted by foreign outsourcing. It has been renewed or expanded three times (2009, 2010, 2011) at varying levels since first created.\r\n\u201cI\u2019m proud to cosponsor this bill that would help American workers, such as Delphi\u2019s salaried retirees, to afford healthcare coverage after they\u2019ve lost their job through no fault of their own,\u201d said Donnelly.\u00a0 \u201cMany have worked for years for companies that provided healthcare coverage, only to lose those benefits when they lost their jobs due to foreign outsourcing.
