The bill would allow foreign governments believed to be involved in terror attacks on U.S. soil to be sued in U.S. courts. The legislation has been long-sought by families of 9/11 victims. The veto was overridden by the Senate with a bipartisan 97-1 vote and is expected to be considered by the U.S. House of Representatives later this week.\r\nDonnelly said, \u201cI voted to override President Obama\u2019s veto of this bill because I believe the victims of terrorism on U.S. soil should have the right to pursue justice and their day in court.\u201d\r\nPresident Obama vetoed the legislation last Friday evening.
