IQMP is a first-of-its-kind campus built to house a central base on Chicago’s South Side where quantum companies, researchers, manufacturers and suppliers can come together to tackle challenges in healthcare, energy, communications and more. Photos from the meeting are available on the Senator’s website.

“Illinois is leading a quantum revolution, and it’s about to take off on Chicago’s South Side,” said Duckworth. “From Japan to Taiwan and all around the world, I’ve praised Illinois as the perfect place for more investments in quantum—and today’s progress is yet another example of why that couldn’t be more true. More investments in quantum means more investments in our national security, in finding cures to diseases, in bending the curve on climate change and more. With the construction of this first of its kind quantum campus, I’m eager see these advancements help bolster the strength of our state and region’s manufacturing.”

“Senator Duckworth has been a tremendous champion at the federal level, helping advance quantum investment and establish Illinois as a global destination for quantum discovery and commercialization,” said Harley Johnson, CEO of the IQMP. “It was an honor to welcome her to the IQMP today and show her firsthand the ecosystem we're building. We look forward to continuing this partnership as we work to advance quantum technology in a way that benefits our state and the people who call it home.”

“PsiQuantum is proud to be the anchor tenant at the Illinois Quantum and Microelectronics Park in South Chicago,” said Victor Peng, Chief Executive Officer of PsiQuantum. “Together with the strong support and bipartisan leadership of elected officials like Senator Duckworth, we are creating the jobs of the future, supporting area businesses, partnering closely alongside the local community, and ultimately bringing this technology to life in Illinois.”

Duckworth has been a leading advocate for bringing quantum investment to Illinois. Last month, as a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, she traveled to Japan to underscore Illinois’s preparedness for additional international investments in the quantum sector, meeting with business leaders from Toshiba and IBM to strengthen partnerships and showcase the state’s leadership in quantum innovation.

-30-", 1, "2026-09-15T09:50:21Z", "2026-09-15T09:52:05Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://www.duckworth.senate.gov/news/press-releases/in-chicago-duckworth-visits-illinois-quantum-and-microelectronics-park-to-highlight-illinoiss-leadership-in-quantum-innovation
