{"database": "press", "table": "releases", "rows": [["https://www.enzi.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/video?ContentRecord_id=5530e95e-e294-4f04-bfd5-c8b128099722", "Obamacare architects can make up for their broken promise", "2013-11-04", "2013", "2013-11", "Republican", "House", "WY", "Michael Enzi", "E000285", "www.enzi.senate.gov", null, null, "legacy", "Washington, D.C. \u2013 U.S. Senator Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., says Obamacare architects still have a chance to repair their broken promise that said if people like their current health care plans they can keep them.\u00a0 He has joined Senator Ron Johnson, R-Wis., and 36 other senators in offering legislation that honestly gives Americans that choice.\r\nEnzi is the author of a 2010 provision that would have kept the Administration honest in its promise.\u00a0 He said the Administration is offering Americans the same choice with their health care plans as Henry Ford did with the color of the Model T.\r\n\u201cHenry Ford said that customers could have his Model T in any color they wanted so long it was black.\u00a0 Sounds similar to what the president has promised with health care.\u00a0 If you like your current plan you can keep it, as long as it\u2019s a model we choose,\u201d\u00a0 Enzi said.\u00a0 \u201cI pointed out three years ago that the Administration had started us down this path, which is why I offered a resolution that would have given people the honest choice to keep their plans. Despite several warnings, everyone in the majority party in the Senate voted against it.\u00a0 We have a bill now that would give them another chance to keep their promise.\u00a0 They need to support us this time.\u201d\r\nEnzi hopes now that people who are experiencing some of the consequences of Obamacare will be able to see the larger vision behind this law that he and other conservative senators warned about years ago.\r\n\u201cThe president and authors of his health care bill promised three years ago if you liked your health care plan you would be able to keep it.\u00a0 Only now that people are losing health care plans right and left are the bill\u2019s writers revealing the catch.\u00a0 You can only keep it so long as it, \u2018\u2026fits into this new regime that we are building for America.\u2019\u00a0 That is what one prominent senator who helped pass Obamacare said this week.\u00a0 That is the vision of this Administration and this majority in the Senate.\u00a0 It has nothing to do with individual choice or freedom,\u201d Enzi said.\u00a0 \u201cWe can\u2019t afford to let these be taken from us.\u00a0 I\u2019m going to continue to do everything I can to see that Americans retain the ability to make their own health care decisions.\u201d", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.enzi.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/video?ContentRecord_id=5530e95e-e294-4f04-bfd5-c8b128099722"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7994030602276325, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
