I will continue fighting to ensure our communities have the resources they need to recover and come back stronger.\u201d\n\nIn addition to requesting statewide hazard mitigation assistance, Governor Reynolds requested funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency\u2019s (FEMA) Public Assistance Program to help repair damaged public infrastructure and facilities, as well as reimburse eligible emergency response and debris removal costs.\n\nThe FEMA Public Assistance request includes the following counties:\n\nJasper County\n\nPolk County\n\nStory County\n\nWarren County\n\nRead the Iowa delegation\u2019s full letter to the president HERE.\n\nBackground:\n\nOn July 24, 2026, Governor Reynolds announced that the U.S. Small Business Administration approved her request to provide disaster assistance to eight counties impacted by the severe storms: Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, Story, and Warren counties.
