This bill is a direct result of Truth API, Truth Social\u2019s subscription service for advance access to the president\u2019s posts, going live this month.\n\n\u201cWhile American families struggle to afford groceries, healthcare, and gas, Donald Trump is selling early access to his social media posts for a profit. That\u2019s not a subscription service, it\u2019s corruption in broad day light,\u201d said Senator Gallego. \u201cThis bill will stomp out this form of corruption now and forever.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe president\u2019s company selling prioritized access to the president\u2019s market-moving posts is corrupt and erodes public confidence,\u201d said Senator Warner. \u201cAmericans should have free and equal access to public statements made by U.S. government officials. My bill would make sure social media companies can\u2019t sell prioritized access to government employees\u2019 accounts and that someone can\u2019t knowingly trade with information obtained through access to those accounts.
