According to DOT, the grant be will used to renovate the administration center, relocate an access road, construct a bus building, and build drive lanes and inspection zones.\r\nI am thrilled to announce RFTA will receive more than $13 million in BUILD grant funding for its Regional Transit Center project, and this is particularly welcome news as the region continues to respond to the Grizzly Creek Fire,said Senator Gardner.I was proud to join RFTA recently to break ground on the Glenwood Maintenance Facility Project, and I join the entire region in celebrating this new BUILD grant funding for renovations and expansion. Transportation improvements are always a top concern when I meet with Coloradans across our state, and I will continue to fight for more funding for Colorado to keep our transportation systems safe.\r\nThe BUILD grant is in addition to a $11.475 million DOT Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Buses and Bus Facilities grant that Gardnerannouncedin August.\r\nEarlier this month, Gardner announced he is working to increase coordination and collaboration among local, state, and federal recovery efforts through theGlenwood Canyon Resiliency Project. Gardner's project is designed to assist with immediate federal assistance and mitigate potential long-term impacts to the region's forests, infrastructure, economy, and watersheds following the wildfire.\r\nAs part of his efforts to support the Glenwood Canyon region, Gardner urged the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to coordinate with the state of Colorado and local governments to mitigatepotential long-term impacts on Colorado's infrastructurestemming from ongoing wildfires across Colorado.\r\n###\r\nCory Gardner is a member of the U.S. Senate serving Colorado.
