The U.S. Senate unanimously passed the senators\u2019 bipartisan resolution earlier this month, designating August 21, 2026, as Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day.\n\n\u201cFar too many American families know the pain of losing a loved one to fentanyl,\u201d Grassley said. \u201cFentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day is a solemn reminder of the lives lost and the importance of local drug awareness and prevention efforts. His HALT Fentanyl Act, which permanently classified fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I, became law after passing the U.S. Senate by an overwhelming majority of 84-16.
