In the interview, Senator Hassan highlighted the new Joint Economic Committee \u2013 Minority report that shows that New Hampshire families have spent $4,400 more on goods and services under President Trump.\n\nIn case you missed it, listen to Senator Hassan\u2019s interview here and see below for some key moments:\n\nSenator Hassan on what she\u2019s hearing from New Hampshire families: \u201cHousing costs, grocery costs, energy, health care, those are all top of mind for people because those are the things you have to pay for... You've got to make that math work every month, and right now, it is not working for way too many people here in New Hampshire and around the country.\u201d\n\nSenator Hassan on Trump\u2019s actions that drive up costs: \u201cThe hardest part about this for me in particular is knowing that Donald Trump's decisions to impose tariffs around the world and to go to war with Iran have made this problem worse. Some of the reasons that we're seeing these costs \u2014 not only some of the reasons, a lot of the reasons we're seeing these costs so high\u2014are directly related to decisions that Donald Trump has made about the war, about refusing to extend tax cuts for people to pay for their ACA healthcare premiums, and tariffs. If he would reverse those things, or if Congress would vote to and pressure him to reverse those things and override vetoes if he made them, we could help bring costs down.\u201d\n\nSenator Hassan on the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act she helped pass: \u201cI also want people to know with all the news about high costs, we did pass a bipartisan housing bill which has become law. And that bill, among other things, will keep Wall Street companies\u2014big private equity companies\u2014from buying [up] single-family homes. That should help with the supply of homes. It cuts red tape so that we can build more homes more quickly, and it also cuts the cost of manufactured housing, which is a critical component to increasing our housing supply.
