I will continue working across the aisle to address the urgent priorities that our state and country are facing.\u201d\n\nThe combined funding bill includes a number of provisions that Senator Hassan advocated for and supported, including:\n\nSignificant funding for dry dock construction at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard\n\nA bipartisan amendment cosponsored by Senator Hassan to research toxic exposure of veterans who served in Kosovo\n\nFunding to support the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), as well as the European Deterrence Initiative and the Pacific Defense Initiative, to help continue standing up to Putin and protecting our national security\n\nFunding to expand access to child care for military families and support for the VA\u2019s caregiver program, which Senator Hassan has worked to protect\n\nIncreased funding for veterans\u2019 mental health, as well as funding to help the VA respond to the opioid epidemic, including increasing access to lifesaving medication like naloxone\n\nDirecting the VA to take additional action to protect military fire fighters exposed to PFAS, including creating a registry of veterans exposed to PFAS as a part of fire fighting chemicals\n\nAdditional funding to support veterans \u2013 including for homeless veterans and veterans in rural communities \u2013 as well as for medical and prosthetic research programs and VA mammography services\n\nIncreased funding to update legacy IT at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Agriculture, and the Federal Aviation Administration \u2013 helping to improve government services, increase cybersecurity, and save taxpayer dollars\n\nIncreased funding for Inspectors General at the Departments of Veterans Affairs, Housing and Urban Development, and Transportation, as well as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, to help root out waste, fraud, and abuse at these agencies\n\nIncreased funding for Amtrak routes, including lines that serve New Hampshire, thanks to the bipartisan infrastructure law that Senator Hassan helped negotiate and pass into law\n\nProvisions to increase access to housing, including additional funding for the Rental Assistance Program, Community Development Block Grant, and the HOME Investment Partnership Program, which helps with the construction of new housing\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T01:01:09Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.hassan.senate.gov/news/press-releases/senator-hassan-helps-secure-key-nh-priorities-in-senate-passed-government-funding-bill"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.9940901547670364, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
