Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, former chairman and longest serving Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decision to hear King v. Burwell, a case that asks whether the federal government can lawfully provide subsidies to buyers of health insurance under Obamacare.
“Obamacare has been a disaster, in no small part because of the divisive process by which it was conceived,” said Hatch. “The Supreme Court must hold the Obama administration accountable to the text of the law as passed by Congress.
