The bill, which had previously passed the Senate twice \u2014 first as part of the Senate NDAA and again as a standalone legislation \u2014 now heads to the President\u2019s desk to be signed into law.\n\nThe legislation is led by U.S. Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.). Alongside Heinrich, the bill is cosponsored by U.S. Senators is Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), and Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.).\n\n\u201cTwo years ago, I was part of the conference committee that finalized what eventually became the CHIPS and Science Act. I fought hard to pass this bill to spark a made-in-America manufacturing renaissance in New Mexico and across the country, and that\u2019s exactly what\u2019s happening,\u201d said Heinrich. \u201cThis bill to speed up construction of microchip projects will build on the momentum we\u2019ve created, strengthen our supply chain and national security, and solidify New Mexico as one of the best places in America to manufacture advanced technologies \u2014 helping to create hundreds of new, good-paying jobs that New Mexicans can build their families around.
