Delegation Welcomes Over $33 Million for Upgrades at Airports Across New Mexico", "2024-09-10", "2024", "2024-09", "Democrat", "Senate", "NM", "Martin Heinrich", "H001046", "www.heinrich.senate.gov", "heinrich", "https://www.heinrich.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases", "scraper", "WASHINGTON \u2014 U.S. Senators Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) and Ben Ray Luj\u00e1n (D-N.M.), U.S. Representatives Teresa Leger Fern\u00e1ndez (D-N.M.), Melanie Stansbury (D-N.M.), and Gabe Vasquez (D-N.M.) are welcoming $33,494,691from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for upgrades at airports across New Mexico.\n\nThis federal funding includes grants from the Infrastructure Law \u2014 legislation passed by Democrats in the N.M. Congressional Delegation \u2014 including $15.7 million to fully fund a new 21,000-square-foot terminal at the Clovis Regional Airport (CVN) and nearly $2.5 million for a project to reconstruct a taxiway at Raton Municipal Airport (RTN).\n\nThe Delegation previously welcomed $3.5 million in FAA funding from the Infrastructure Law for the new terminal at the Clovis Regional Airport in February. Heinrich successfully included an additional $3.5 million for the new terminal in the Fiscal Year 2025 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill that passed out of the Senate Appropriations Committee in July. In combination with this latest award, Clovis will now have enough funding to complete the new terminal.\n\n\u201cWhen we invest in New Mexico\u2019s airports, we invest in the people who rely on these facilities to do business in our state, create jobs, and contribute to our economy,\u201d said Heinrich, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. \u201cI am proud to welcome funding from the Infrastructure Law to fully construct Clovis Regional Airport\u2019s new terminal and improve airportsall across New Mexico. I will keep fighting to bring investments hometo modernize terminals, improve travelers\u2019 experiences, and drive our state\u2019s economic growth for the future.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is delivering millions of dollars and creating jobs across New Mexico.
