Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., and Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., will attend with speaker Darrell Dorgan. The program begins at 1 p.m. Friday at the Bimarck AMVETS Club, 2402 Railroad Ave., in Bismarck.\r\n\r\n\r\nOn Saturday, Heitkamp will speak at the VFW\u2019s All-Veteran Centennial Memorial to recognize the men and women who have served the country. She will highlight the issues that veterans face, such as accessing health services close to home or making sure they find good-paying jobs as they transition into civilian life.\r\n\r\nThe event will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the Russell Reid Auditorium at the Heritage Center, 612 E. Boulevard Ave. in Bismarck.\r\n\r\nIn addition,\u00a0University of Mary students will utilize letters collected from WWI to perform a Reader\u2019s Theater inside the North Dakota Heritage Center\u2019s Russell Reid Auditorium at 1 p.m., called \u201cLetters from the Great War,\u201d that will also include a lecture by Joseph Stuart, who teaches a class on the Cultural History of the Great War.
