Burdick Job Corps Center about how Job Corps offers students a chance to develop their skills and find careers in fields like health care and manufacturing. \u00a0One hundred ninety-two students graduated from the program this year.\r\n\u201cThe Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps gives so many young people opportunities to increase their educational, career, technical, and social skills,\u201d Heitkamp said. \u201cIt\u2019s a place where students grow \u2013 both as adults and as workers. I\u2019m so proud of every student here. They all show such amazing promise, and I have no doubt they will do great things.\u201d\r\nEarlier this year, Heitkamp joined a bipartisan group of Senators to press the Senate Appropriations Committees to continue support of the Job Corps program. She also continues to educate colleagues in Washington about the importance of supporting Job Corps and other programs that help students build skills to succeed in today\u2019s economy.\u00a0\r\nMinot\u2019s Job Corps Center opened in 1994, and is named in honor of former U.S. Senator Quentin N. Burdick of North Dakota. Job Corps is a career technical training program provided to young people ages 16 to 24 through the U.S. Department of Labor.
