The federal funding announced today will help provide the resources needed to reduce overdoses, provide treatment, and prevent addiction from occurring in the first place.\u201d\r\nThis federal funding is made available through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services\u2019 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.\r\nHeitkamp has been working to address opioid abuse in North Dakota and has hosted a series a roundtable listening sessions across the state over the past year to hear from law enforcement, treatment providers, and families who are on the front lines of this epidemic.\r\nEarlier this month, Heitkamp also helped pass comprehensive health legislation that will strengthen federal funding to find a cure for cancer, boost resources for combatting opioid abuse, and improve critical mental health programs.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.heitkamp.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/press-releases?ID=47804B37-0521-4205-A8D2-4D079C0A57C6"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.3167711440473795, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
