U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp today announced more than $860,000 in federal funds to support programs at North Dakota State Universitys (NDSU) Mountain-Plains Consortium (MPC) aimed to promote transportation infrastructure, energy development and safety.\r\nDuring negotiations on the bipartisan, long-term bill to fund the federal highway programs, Heitkamp has been an advocate for making sure critical funding to support the MPC and Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute at NDSU continues.\r\nReliable and safe transportation infrastructure is critical to local economies, communities and families, said Heitkamp.
