U.S. Senator Heidi Heitkamp, the top Democrat on the U.S. Senate Agriculture Subcommittee on Rural Development and Energy, announced a total of nearly $18 million in federal direct loans and $10 million in federal loan guarantees to support rural and tribal education, housing, and healthcare development.\r\nInvestments in North Dakotas rural and tribal communities help our state stay economically vibrant, said Heitkamp. The predominantly rural landscape in North Dakota makes rural and tribal communities important to countless families.
