Tim Scott (R-SC) to significantly increase the child tax credit to $2,000, or double the child tax credit from current law. At 12:30 p.m. PT, the Senate Finance Committee will debate amendments to the Tax Cut and Jobs Act. Nevada media can live-stream the markup here. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act also includes Heller\u2019s provision that\u00a0would make it easier for\u00a0startups and\u00a0businesses to give employees an ownership stake in their company\u2019s success by awarding stock options. According to the Tax Foundation, the U.S. Senate Finance Committee\u2019s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will create nearly 1 million new jobs, increase wages by 2.9 percent, grow the economy by 3.7 percent, and provide more than $1.2 trillion of additional revenue for the federal government.
