Hirono will host a federal grants webinar in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Individuals and nonprofit organizations interested in learning about federal funding opportunities for their respective arts, culture or linguistics programs are invited to join the free webinar on Tuesday, November 17, from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.\r\nI have long been and continue to be a proud supporter of the arts. Whether its music, literature, visual arts or other performing arts, these endeavors enrich our lives and fill our spirit, said Senator Hirono. I strongly urge art-focused organizations or anyone who has a passion for the arts and culture to participate in this federal grants webinar.\r\nArts and cultural organizations are the lifeblood of the Hawaii community, said volunteer arts advocate Melissa Pavlicek. Helping arts and cultural organizations connect with governmental grant funders will strengthen the local community.\r\nThe webinar will feature presentations by the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities and the Institute of Museum and Library Services and will include:\r\n- Examples of how grants are implemented in other communities\r\n- Upcoming grant opportunities\r\n- Tips for applying for grants\r\n- Eligibility, application criteria, and the review process\r\n- How to connect with these federal agencies\r\nInterested organizations can register at http://bit.ly/1kg9jL8.
