Details of the funding are as follows:\r\nHead Start Grants  The funds are awarded by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF). Head Start helps children prepare for learning by providing access to education, health and wellness services for low-income children and families.\r\n \r\nSoutheastern North Dakota Community Action Agency  $3,222,821  The funds will be used to support Head Start programs in Cass, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele and Traill counties.\r\nTGU School District  $2,267,436  The funds will be used to support Head Start programs in the TGU School District which serves Towner and Granville.\r\n \r\nMaternal and Child Health Services  The funds are awarded by the Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA).\r\n \r\nNorth Dakota Department of Health  $434,936\r\n \r\nMedical Research  The funds are awarded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS).\r\n \r\nUniversity of North Dakota (UND)  $107,960  The funds will be used to support clinical research at UND to treat neurological disorders.\r\n \r\nToday's funding will help families and children better access quality health care and support important medical research at UND, Hoeven said.
