This includes gathering feedback from North Dakota producers, commodity groups and other agri-businesses as work begins on the next farm bill. To this end, Hoeven recently hosted Senator John Boozman, Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, in North Dakota for a discussion with local producers and commodity groups.\n\n\u201cOur farmers and ranchers can compete with anyone, anywhere in the world, and it\u2019s through their work that Americans have the most affordable, highest-quality food supply in the world,\u201d said Hoeven. \u201cAs we start working on the next farm bill, it\u2019s vital that North Dakotans can provide direct input on the process. This includes our financial institutions, which play an important role in ensuring farmers and ranchers have access to the capital they need for their operations.\u201d\n\nWriting the Next Farm Bill\n\nAmong other efforts, Hoeven is working to advance the following priorities in the next farm bill:\n\nMaintaining strong crop insurance, the primary risk management tool for many producers.\n\nImproving the farm safety net, including the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs.\n\nStrengthening livestock disaster programs, including the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP), the Livestock Forage Program (LFP) and the Emergency Livestock Assistance Program (ELAP).\n\nCutting red-tape and ensuring programs are farmer-friendly.\n\n-###-", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T18:34:28Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.hoeven.senate.gov/news/news-releases/hoeven-discusses-priorities-for-the-next-farm-bill-at-ag-credit-conference"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 2.2155367769300938, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
