The funding is being awarded to the DCC East Project in Grand Forks.\n\n\u201cNorth Dakota has always been a leader in energy innovation and now with Project Tundra, we\u2019re leading the technology development of carbon capture and storage on a traditional coal-fired power plant,\u201d said Hoeven. \u201cProject Tundra is vital to the future of our lignite industry, and will help ensure we have the reliability and affordability of coal-fired electric power today and for future generations.\u201d\n\nHoeven has worked to advance Project Tundra to provide a way forward for the state\u2019s coal-fired electric industry.
