Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted for S. 2873, the Expanding Capacity for Health Outcomes (ECHO) Act, which requires the Department of Health to study models that use interactive videoconferencing to link specialist teams with primary care providers in rural and underserved areas. This bill passed the Senate 97-0.\r\n\u201cI am proud to have co-sponsored and voted for the ECHO Act,\u201d Inhofe said. \u201cUsing technology to improve access to specialized health care is critical to rural communities in Oklahoma. Equipping physicians in these areas with interactive videoconferencing technologies means geographic location doesn\u2019t determine whether or not a patient can receive the care they require. This legislation will help rural physicians as well by enabling them to learn more about diseases and conditions affecting patients in their area. I am proud my colleagues in the Senate have voted to pass this important measure.\u201d", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.inhofe.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/inhofe-votes-for-echo-act"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.0311119258403778, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
