I look forward to working as a member of the conference committee to put education progress and decisions back in the hands of parents, teachers, and state and local governments. I also look forward to working to make sure this agreement includes an amendment that I sponsored in the Senate-passed measure that ensures parents have the information needed to make decisions on their childrens education, including their rights to opt their children out of mandated testing.\r\nThe Senate voted 91-6 to move to conference on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. The conference committee will hold its first meeting today, November 18, 2015, at 2:30 p.m., where Isakson and others will deliver opening remarks. The conference committee meeting will be streamed online here.\r\nIn addition to Isakson, Republican Senate negotiators include Sens. Mike Enzi, R-Wyo., Richard Burr, R-N.C., Rand Paul, R-Ky., Susan Collins, R-Maine, Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Mark Kirk, R-Ill., Tim Scott, R-S.C., Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, Pat Roberts, R-Kan., and Bill Cassidy, R-La.\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.isakson.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/news-releases?ContentRecord_id=f87b1381-e407-4dea-8d79-24681a042c5c"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.4871759340167046, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
