Senator Jones has been working with his colleagues on both sides\r\nof the aisle today to find common ground to fund the government.  On\r\nWednesday, the Senate passed with unanimous bipartisan support a bill that\r\nwould have funded the federal government. Unfortunately, the House sent us a\r\nbill that clearly could not earn the necessary votes to pass in the Senate.\r\nWorking with Senators Corker and Flake, and leadership of both parties, a\r\ncommitment was forged that we would proceed with debate but that no further\r\nvotes would be taken until an agreement is reached that would pass both houses\r\nof Congress and be signed by the President. In essence, my vote tonight was a\r\nvote to proceed to find common ground. It is only by finding common ground that\r\nwe can fulfill our duty to govern effectively, said Senator Jones.
