We can\u2019t throw the brakes on the use of fossil fuels - that would be unrealistic and hurt our economy. But we have a responsibility to generate cleaner energy tomorrow than we do today. Based on the scientific consensus that carbon pollution negatively affects the world climate, it\u2019s clear that the Keystone XL Pipeline \u2013 which would transport tar sands oil that is 15-20% dirtier than conventional oil \u2013 is not in our economic, national security or environmental interest.
