Star Certification is awarded to exemplary worksites with comprehensive, successful safety, and health management systems.\r\n\u201cFacilities like Casco Bay Energy are a critical component of America\u2019s energy infrastructure, helping to provide a reliable source of electricity for people across Maine and New England,\u201d Senator King said. \u201cThat's why I am so proud to join with officials from OSHA to congratulate\u00a0the folks here today on this well-deserved Star Certification safety award, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication that is put in here every day to provide a safe work place and provide the energy that Mainers need to live their lives.\u201d\r\nFollowing the award ceremony, Senator King toured Casco Bay Energy\u2019s facility and met with company executives to discuss the need for greater natural gas pipeline infrastructure and energy grid stability and security.\r\nSenator King has called on the Obama Administration to help coordinate federal and state efforts to expand natural gas pipeline infrastructure throughout New England, and he has also introduced legislation that would protect the energy grid from cyber-attacks.\r\n\u201cAt a time of increased cyber-threats, it is critical that we do\u00a0everything we can to safeguard our critical energy infrastructure,\u201d Senator King said. \u201cToday\u2019s tour was an important part of an ongoing conversation about the challenges facilities like Casco Bay Energy face and how we can help them in keeping our grid secure and affordable.\u201d\r\nCasco Bay Energy, a subsidiary of Dynegy, is a natural gas power production facility located in Veazie.\r\nSenator King also traveled to Bangor this afternoon to visit the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC) network operation and command center.\r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.king.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/-king-celebrates-safety-award-presented-to-casco-bay-energy-company-in-veazie_"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6287851613014936, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
