The awards will be used by the organizations to establish an economic development planning framework, process, and strategy that supports private capital investment and job creation in their respective regions.\r\n\u201cCollaboration between the public and private sectors is essential for promoting business expansion and robust job growth,\u201d Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. \u201cBy supporting regional economic development, these investments will help strengthen and diversify the economies of our local communities.\u201d\r\nThe names of the grantees and the amounts awarded are as follows:\r\n \r\nThe Midcoast Economic Development District was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Southern Maine Regional Planning Commission was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Greater Portland Council of Governments was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Kennebec Valley Council of Governments was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Eastern Maine Development Corporation was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments was awarded $70,000.\r\n \r\n \r\nThe Penobscot Indian Nation was awarded $44,500.\r\n \r\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.king.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/collins-king-announce-464500-in-economic-development-grants-across-maine"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.9398019649088383, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
