U.S. Senator Susan Collins and Angus King announced more than $2 million in funding from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that will provide support for distance learning and telemedicine programs throughout the state.\r\nIt is important that we recognize the hard work and dedication of community leaders and health care professionals throughout our state and continue to support projects in Maine's rural areas,said Senator Collins and King in a statement.This important investmentindistance learning and telemedicine programswill improve educational opportunities and access to vital health care servicesin Maines rural communities.\r\nThe USDAs Distance Learning and Telemedicine program helps rural communities develop and maintain telecommunication networks in order connect to each other and to the world.
