This day\r\nrecognizes and shows solidarity with America's servicemembers who have been\r\nPrisoners of War, those still Missing in Action, and their families:\r\n\r\nWe join today to honor the brave\r\nmembers of our Armed Forces who were held as Prisoners of War and those who\r\nremain Missing in Action. I am humbled to join families in Maine and across the\r\nNation to recognize their courage, patriotism, and immeasurable sacrifices.\r\nThis day is a solemn reminder of these sacrifices, but it is also a call to\r\naction. In recognizing the sacrifices made by our family and community members\r\nwho are or have been POW/MIA, we must recommit ourselves to working to bring them\r\nhome and to caring for those among us they have left behind.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThe POW/MIA flag is emblazoned\r\nwith the phrase, You Are Not Forgotten.' This serves as a stark reminder to us\r\nall that we must bear witness to the sacrifice of those still unaccounted for\r\nby joining together in our unyielding efforts to ensure that no one is left\r\nbehind. This is also a reminder of our commitment and obligation to those who\r\nhave returned and to ensure that they receive the support and compassionate\r\ncare they deserve.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis national day of recognition\r\nis a day we gather as a country to remember, but the families of POW/MIA must\r\nquietly endure the pain of a missing loved one every day. We must commit to\r\nstand by these families as a community, state, and Nation, to pay tribute to\r\nthe sacrifices of those who are or have been POW/MIA. We vow to continue our\r\nefforts not only to bring them home, but also to care for their families and\r\ntheir comrades who have returned.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOn this day, I am honored to\r\nexpress my deepest gratitude to the brave members of our community who are or\r\nhave been POW/MIA. To the families who have quietly borne the pain of a missing\r\nloved one, know that we will continue to stand with you and honor their\r\nselflessness to ensure the safety of our nation.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://www.king.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/king-statement-honoring-pow/mia-day"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.5219952911138535, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
