Over the course of his term in Congress, Senator King hopes to connect with as many Maine high schools as possible in order to share his experiences representing Maine in the U.S. Senate and answer their questions about today\u2019s most pressing issues.\r\n\u201cI was delighted to have the opportunity to connect with students and teachers at Hall-Dale this afternoon,\u201d said Senator King. \u201cThey asked thoughtful and impressive questions that covered a variety of topics, including budget negotiations, healthcare, the Maine laptop program, and the future of energy in America. I applaud them for their interest in government and thank them for allowing me to speak with them.\u201d\r\nAmelia Clukey, a 7th grade teacher at Hall-Dale and the one who led the student call, stated, \u201cI appreciate an elected leader like Senator King taking time out of his busy schedule to connect with our middle and high school students back here in Maine. Students today, more than ever, need to understand our democracy as well as their role as citizens and who better to learn that from than one of our own elected leaders. This was an incredible learning opportunity our students were provided with today!\u201d\r\nWatch Senator King\u2019s conference below.\r\n\r\nHall-Dale Middle School and Hall-Dale High School, located in Farmington, is part of the Kennebec Intra-District Schools (KIDS) Regional School Unit (RSU) 2 which includes the towns of Dresden, Farmingdale, Hallowell, Monmouth, and Richmond. \u201cCapitol Class with Angus\u201d is parts of Senator King\u2019s larger initiative to expand constituent outreach through the use of 21st century technologies.
