Today, U.S. Senators Susan Collins\r\n(R-Maine) and Angus King (I-Maine) announced that the U.S. Department of Health\r\nand Human Services (HHS)'s Office of Community Services' Community Economic\r\nDevelopment Project Program will award $600,000 to Coastal Enterprises, Inc.,\r\n(CEI), a non-profit based in Brunswick that helps to grow economic development\r\nin Maine. The funding will support a partnership between CEI and Junora LTD, a\r\nstart-up manufacturing company based in Biddeford, to provide job training and\r\nsupport for low-income individuals in the region.   For over 40 years, CEI has been a\r\nnational leader in rural economic development and financing environmentally\r\nsustainable business practices, said Senators Collins and King said in a\r\njoint statement. Maine needs qualified workers, and these funds will help\r\nMaine people acquire the skills they need to succeed in the 21st\r\ncentury economy. We are proud to support this partnership between CEI and\r\nBiddeford-based Junora to bolster our state's economy, develop our workforce\r\nand create promising job opportunities for Maine people. Last spring, Senators Collins and\r\nKing sent a letter to the HHS in support of CEI's grant application.
