This legislation now goes to the House of Representatives for a vote.\n\nThe bipartisan legislation provides free credit monitoring for all armed service members, including non-active duty reservists and National Guard members. Currently, only active duty servicemembers are eligible for free credit monitoring.\n\n\u201cServicemembers are heroes who put their lives on the line for our nation and we must support them in every way we can,\u201d said Klobuchar. \u201cBy making free credit monitoring available for every single member of our armed forces, this bipartisan legislation will improve the financial security of military families and give them greater peace of mind.\u201d\n\n\u201cOur servicemembers put so much on the line and are frequently deployed or regularly moving, leaving them more vulnerable to financial fraud,\u201d said Cramer. \u201cThe inclusion of the Servicemembers\u2019 Credit Monitoring Enhancement Act in this year\u2019s NDAA is an important step to protecting their financial security.\u201d\n\n\u201cI have supported this legislation since I was a member of the House of Representatives and first represented Guard and Reserve service members at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst who are unfairly cut out of the full benefits they deserve.
